Why I photograph newborns

Newborn baby boy wrapped in a white and blue blanket with one hand out, wearing a blue cap, and sound asleep.

I've loved photography since I was a teenager and loved printing photos to make albums. But I became passionate about it after becoming a mother to a beautiful baby girl in 2016.

PPD and a Newborn Session

When I was pregnant, I booked a newborn session with a photographer but after giving birth, I suffered from postpartum depression and had no desire to do anything, let alone get ready for a photoshoot. Ten days later, when it was time for the shoot, I forced myself to go and it was absolutely worth it!

Love and Connection in a Photo

Up until that photo session, I hadn’t felt anything but the grey cloud over my head. For one of the poses, the photographer asked me to hold my baby and just smell her. It was then that I felt the love and connection for my baby for the first time. My heart ached for my baby. I was still depressed but that moment changed my life and I knew I can be better. I still look at that photo and I remember that feeling all over again. That’s what I want my photographs to do for you.

Simple Sessions of Me and my Baby

Although that photographer had many props and backdrops, the photograph that melted my heart was a simple one. No blankets, no props, no backdrops. It was just me and my baby.

I want to create a photograph that shows that connection between you and your loved ones. I want to create a space where you can feel the moment and breathe in all that love and hold it forever in that photograph.

Book now so I can create for you that natural, authentic connection of love.
