What is an in-home newborn session?
When you are ready to book your newborn session, you have a choice to make on where the session will take place. Most people think of a studio, which I also offer, but there’s another option! In-home newborn sessions allow the photographer to come to your home to photograph your baby and family.
Authentic
No matter where the photos are taken, the photos I take will be authentic to you and your family. These sessions have the advantage of being in your space, in the comfort and familiarity of your home. Sessions may include photos of your baby in the nursery, in their crib, or on your bed. This personal touch lends to photos that are unique to your family.
Gorgeous Portraits
You can rest assured that even in your home, I will get gorgeous portraits of your baby and your family. I bring all my lights, gear, stands, and backdrops to your home so there will be consistency in the images whether they are in my studio or in your home.
Comfort
These sessions can be less stressful, especially with a newborn. No need to bundle up baby in a carseat and drive back and forth - I bring the studio to you so can avoid the stress and be more comfortable. Your baby and the rest of the family will be in a familiar space and there’s no need to disturb the baby. This can help to create more relaxed and natural photos. Also, you can feed in the most comfortable way, whether it’s bottle or breast (and requires an episode of Friends to get you through it - ask me how I know!).
Flexibility
In-home newborn sessions also provide flexibility with who’s photographed - the major addition being pets. In my studio, pets are not allowed (to accommodate non-pet clients). In your home, you can include pets. You may choose to be in the photos, along with older siblings, and any other caregivers that are important to your baby.
